My problem with replacement cards is that it forces you to look places where you possibly shouldn't be looking.

For example: I find it highly interesting to see the Lily in an even tighter loops with Ohjay's 28. Normally, if I'd seen such a loose loop with the 28 and other 28, I wouldn't have even guessed at long lasting relationship. I'd have said they'd broken up or they both feel secluded. Meanwhile, however, we have the Lily (house of mice) with the Tower in the house of the Heart and the Tree in the house of the Sun... Now that smells nicer to me.

Question for Ohjay: is your gent older or are you older? I'd bet my bottom dollar he's older than you are, and more prone to worry given the house of the mice? Maybe he's more scattered.

Anyways, I wanted to chime in as I think it's important to let the cards draw out their own picture. Had that extra man been the woman, you might have noticed the Lily and Ohjay's card as having something between the two. What I do like, however, is that I've never done it that way, but have always wondered. I've always doubted about the merit of it. I guess we will find out! And THAT is more appealing than anything...

But do you both see what I mean about Ohjay being closer to the Lily than the other 28?

If I'd left the Woman card in I'd have been reading from the Rider and I'd have seen the Woman as unimportant, wouldn't have read that section at all without the other Man card there, so I wouldn't have seen that at all. This is why I like having the alternates to use for same-sex relationships, it makes it less confusing for me. It's also why I charged each one, so I knew which one was Ohjays.

I think I mentioned Ohjays' seclusion (isolation). And yes, with both having Tower energy I felt that too. However, the Clover in the house of Dog and Sun in the House of Crossroads being in their loop made for a more positive feeling joining them, so this could just be passing and is why I felt that whatever troubles they're having they will work it out.

Yes, it's a loose loop, but then won't loose loops appear occasionally in a long term, committed relationship if it's going through a rough spot? I would expect it, and feel that positive cards between them would mean that all will be well eventually.

I've only used the alternate Man or Woman card in string readings so far, this was my first chance to use one in a larger spread. I did wonder about the Lily also being a descriptor for Ohjays as older, but didn't mention it. It is in House of Mountain, so definitely a possibility, but to me it added to the "long term" aspect...I look forward to Ohjays' feedback.

And Ohjays, you can feel free to do what I did and give me your own read of the spread based on your knowledge of your situation and how you read a GT. I'm curious to see how you would see it.

Yes, the loop would dance around.

I'm not saying it's wrong to sub the woman card, but I've never had to rely on it so I've never done it. Had I looked at the cards you laid out, I would have said simply that he was in a relationship with an older man given the undertones with the Lily, Tree, Man and Tower.

I'm looking forward to seeing how well it worked though...! :)

I have one more comment on the one for me and my husband...and I don't know why this didn't hit me until last night. Man in the House of Woman...yes, literally. The house we now share was mine to begin! Again, these cards never cease to amaze me.

Yes, these are the subtleties that I'm still learning. The Lily would give me Ohjays as an older man, but those combos wouldn't give me him in a relationship with an older man. Tower would give me tall and Tree speaks to me of length of time. Note taken that those together can signify an older partner.  ;)

Hello Druidess,

A couple of things jumped out at me right away. First, I see arguments in the relationship in the past, possibly about family or friends (Whip in House of Dog).
True enough. Like any lengthy relationship, we've had our share of arguments, and sometimes they are about family.

Quote
I feel your partner is a tall man or an executive (or both) since he appears in House of Tower (with Whip beside this, a lawyer perhaps...family law?) who likes to hang out with friends a lot (Dog in House of Garden),
Tall, yes; and taller than me. He does social work, so is very much not an executive. :) He does enjoy seeing friends, but we both tend to be "homebodies."

Quote
and also that right now there's illness but that the choices being made will have a positive outcome...however, this has unknown effects on your own health.
Well, right now I have an illness -- this darn cold that's been lingering for the past week. (Snowblowing the driveway does not help!) He hurt his back recently, so has to baby it for a bit, which is why I have to do the aforementioned snowblowing right now.

Quote
I take it you are feeling some isolation in the relationship right now as you appear under Tower in House of Heart. You're a charming and emotional man since you are in House of Moon...Tree in House of Sun shows me that your emotions run deep, but are usually positive.
I don't feel isolated in our relationship right now. In general we have good communication and openness. I like to think I'm charming. :D And yes, my emotions can run deep. I suppose I tend to complain and look at things negatively, but am largely positive at core.

Attempting the Loop method, the relationship appears to be a long-established relationship, buthere are things that may be eating away at it (Lily in House of Mice). That appears to be told again below with Birds in House of Anchor and Snake in House of Cross...there are burdens and stress/anxiety here, but they are being discussed and dealt with together. These are the most important points I saw.
By loop method, do mean going from house to house to house? I used to use that as a core method, it worked well for me, but I later dropped it from my repertoire. I agree it's long-established. He suffers from anxiety which does affect us in some regards, yet we deal with it together. Of course it's a burden at times, to both of us, but we have discussed as it is an ongoing issue.

Nice work.

Younger. :) I tend to be the worrier; while he has the anxiety. I would say he's more scattered than me, although I have my moments.

Tall, yes; and taller than me. He does social work, so is very much not an executive. :) He does enjoy seeing friends, but we both tend to be "homebodies."  I almost said "family advocate", and social work would be close...next time I'll stick with my gut.

He hurt his back recently, so has to baby it for a bit, which is why I have to do the aforementioned snowblowing right now. OK, so yes, he has an illness (injury) that is affecting your health. Lily over Tree...snow controlling health?  ;)

OK, this would cause some of what I saw. My husband has that as well, it's why I'm in control of things. He's a worrier, I'm not. The distance could be physical then, and momentary (I did feel it was temporary), due to his back and your cold. The loop method, if I followed Mr. L correctly, means that I started where his card was and used the lines between him and you to form a loop of joining cards.

Nice work. Thank you.
Blessed Be,
